An Inmate Gives Thanks for His Studies

By | April 7, 2015

Dear friends, this is a note that we received from José Luis the other day on the back of one of his studies. We are so thankful for all the men and women that are participating in them because we have seen the hand of God move on their lives as they diligently scrutinize God’s Word.  Presently, in the prison of Santa Adelaida, 10% of the inmate population is doing the studies.

Here are the words of José Luis:

“Dear friends of the Board of Directors, thank you for all that you have done. For me it is an honor to know you. In all my life I have never received anything because I have never had the privilege of going to school. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in these studies.  I am very happy to be the first in my family to receive Christ, and there is nothing more precious than being in the Way of Jehovah God, our Heavenly Father. I also want you to know that I have dedicated my time to composing praise and worship songs. I am trying to redeem the time. Although I may be a prisoner and not have physical freedom I am free spiritually, and with God’s grace nothing will hold be back.”

Please remember to keep these men and women in your prayers.

    Gary Morgan.
I am the American who 10 years ago was in Santa Alieida. You remember? You gave me a Bible with my name printed on it. I still carry it to church to this day. I did your study sheets and I’ll never forget your kindness and bravery for going inside that awful prison.
You even came to Tampico in southern Tamps. To visit me when I was transferred to Altimiada.
    I’ll never forget.

I can’t tell how happy Brenda and I were to hear from you. Over the years we have thought about and prayed for you several times. We tried to search you out and find you on the net, but were unable to do so. I had lost the contact info that I had for your brother and mother. God bless you man! You made my day when I read your notes. I would love to talk with you sometime. Write me at and give me you phone number and I will be sure to give you a call. I can’t tell you how my heart feels just in knowing that you are continuing on with the Lord. Once again, thank you for writing and please get in touch.
